About

Why Grant is the best choice for family law

Grant Currie was born and raised on Vancouver Island and has lived the majority of his life here, making him familiar with the people and cultures that comprise his clientele. His familiarity with and empathy for the issues faced by people living on the Island have been enhanced by his years working as a logger and commercial fisherman, to help pay for his education.

A Background in Business, Psychology & Law

Grant has more than 10 years of post-secondary school training. In addition to his law degree from the University of Victoria, he has a business diploma from BCIT and a bachelor of arts with a double major in English and psychology from the University of Victoria. At BCIT, he took numerous accounting courses that have proved invaluable in understanding corporate financial structures and being able to read and understand complicated financial statements.

In obtaining his BA, Grant’s studies included a number of courses in child psychology and family dynamics. These courses, together with many years of practicing family law, have given him the knowledge and experience necessary to share insights with his family law clients and help them make decisions during what is often one of the most stressful and difficult periods of their lives. If there are any children involved, keeping them and their needs at the forefront of everyone’s minds is always a top priority.

Dedication & Passion—In Work & In Life

Passion, hard work and commitment are central to the way Grant approaches his practice. These ideals are also central to his personal life. Whether coaching his children’s sporting activities, sitting on charity boards or contributing to his local or provincial professional organizations, Grant can always be counted on to give 100%. He says,

“Regardless of the challenge, always play like a champion.”

Using a Team Approach to Handle Your Case

Grant has been helping people going through separations for more than 20 years. He has done so with the help of his exceptional and well-trained legal assistants and paralegal, Amanda. Together with the assistance of other professional relationships Grant has formed through the years with local accountants, counsellors and valuators, Grant is ready to provide his clients with a team that is experienced and more than capable of taking on the most complicated and difficult cases.
